A MAN branded a ‘serial complainer’ in a council report has received an apology from town hall bosses.

Stephen Bullcock - identified for his reports on fly-tipping in areas such as Kingstone - should not have been named, according to Coun Kevin Williams, who chairs the Central Area Council.

He said: “We would like to sincerely apologise to the resident for what was said in the report.

“The inclusion of this comment was inappropriate and we’re sorry for this mistake.

“An apology was made at the following meeting and we’ve called the resident since the incident to apologise for what happened.

“We welcome comments and questions from the public and will always do our best to address and positively respond to concerns.”

Dodworth ward’s Coun Peter Fielding, who is part of the Central Area Council, added: “My issue was that it seemed unfair to name the resident and describe him as a ‘serial complainer’.

“I raised it and the council have since amended the document, but I can definitely see why this offended the resident.

“Hopefully the council have learned their lesson on this one.”
