CARE home staff who set up an eye-catching display of old bras to raise awareness of breast cancer have now turned their attention to the men of Barnsley.
Kexborough House’s ‘booby board’ last year turned plenty of heads, and team leader Jane Penvose is hoping the new display of men’s underwear - for Prostate Cancer UK - will do the same.
Jane said: “It’s a bit of a follow-up as the last one did really well, and we thought we’d do something for the men.
“It ties in with Prostate Cancer UK’s ‘March for Men’ campaign, where people are doing so many thousands of steps each day.
“The residents have coloured in a display of underpants inside, and we’ve put together this display outside - but I haven’t asked anybody to donate their old pants, we’ve bought new ones.”
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
