IF you are looking for a change in your career direction then the #MyFuture training and recruitment event being held later this month is an event you must attend.

The Chronicle has teamed up with the Barnsley 2030 campaign and some of the borough’s leading employers to offer job seekers the chance to learn more about the opportunities on offer.

More than 20 employers and training providers will have a presence, making it the largest event of its type staged in several years.

Barnsley Central MP, Dan Jarvis, will perform the official opening and deliver a keynote address to exhibitors and delegates.

Representatives from the force will be at there to answer your questions and guide you through their recruitment process.

Several organisations, agencies and training providers will be on hand to offer expert help and advice.

The authority is one of the biggest employers in the region and so offers a massive variety of opportunities.

What if you’re looking for some general support to help boost your employability skills?

The team from the council’s Employment and Skills Service will be there as well to answer your any questions you might have.

Ever fancied setting up your own business?

Specialist help will be available from the team at Barnsley Business Village.

And what if you really need to go back to the classroom to learn new skills?

Tutors and recruitment experts from Barnsley, Northern and Dearne Valley colleges will be available to talk you through your many options.

Admission to #MyFuture is free and the event is open to the public between 10.30am and 6.30pm on Tuesday April 26.

It will be in the main hall at Barnsley College Sports Village, Honeywell and car parking will be available.
