MORE than 1,800 people have tested positive for Covid in the last seven days in Barnsley as the infection rate continues to rocket.
The town’s infection rate is currently 755.8 per 100,000 residents - a 36.5 per cent increase from the previous week.
It’s the highest the rate has been since January 31.
