Barnsley captain Cauley Woodrow looks set to join Luton Town.

The 27-year-old striker, who has scored 53 goals in four seasons with the Reds, is understood to be in talks with the Hatters and the deal could be done this week.

Woodrow, who began his career with Luton, is set for a move back to the Championship after Barnsley were relegated last season.

The Reds have to sell players to offset the cost of relegation, with Hungary international Callum Styles and Poland centre-back Michal Helik among others who could be moved on this summer.

Barnsley have returned to full pre-season training this week under new head coach Michael Duff whoawas announced last week.

The Chronicle understands that Romal Palmer and Victor Adeboyejo, who are both out of contract this summer, did not returned for pre-season training yesterday. Will Hondermarck and Will Lancaster have been back in training and are expected to sign new deals in the coming days.

They are due to play their first friendly at Worksop on Saturday.
