OLIVER Rowland claimed a solitary point from the latest round of the Formula E World Championship.

The Penistone driver, who races for Maghindra, finished in tenth position in the race in Marrakesh.

Rowland had started in 11th spot on the grid and made a quick charge into the top five inside two laps.

He was as high as second at one point but due to energy levels had to settle for tenth.

Rowland said: “To be honest, it was looking really optimistic.

“We had a strategy to push in the first half and then make the battery last until the end, but it didn’t pan out as expected.

“The car felt great and I enjoyed my charge. I’m looking forward to New York (July 16-17) and seeing what we can do.”
