BARNSLEY Council is facing a £12m black hole in its budget.
A cabinet report revealed the cost will be plugged with the council’s reserves but further borrowing will come.
Finance bosses are particularly concerned about overspends in the children services and growth and sustainability directorates.
“It’s anticipated the council will need to borrow up to £240.3m by the end of 2024/25,” the report added.
