Barnsley have a potential new signing 'in the building' at Oakwell and could announce the loan deal today if the final details are agreed.
It would be a first signing of the transfer window just five days after it opened.
Head coach Michael Duff said: “We have one in the building but it’s always subject to contracts and medicals. We went down the line in the summer where we were close to one and he failed a medical.
"Hopefully in the next 24 or 48 hours we can announce something.”
