Joe Ackroyd has been loaned out to Buxton for a month.

The Barnsley midfielder, 20, impressed in the first half of the season on loan at seventh-tier Guiseley but Buxton play the division above in the National League North.

The academy graduate, from Darfield, has been on the bench for the Reds in recent weeks.

He has played for them in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy but is yet to make his league debut.

Meanwhile, Josiah Dyer made his debut for loan club FC United of Manchester this week.

The 18-year-old joined the Northern Premier League club for an initial month. He came off the bench on Saturday against Whitby Town when they were 1-0 down, helping them to a 2-2 draw.

Dyer, the son of Reds legend Bruce, made his first team debut at Doncaster in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.
