OLIVER Rowland collected his first points of the Formula E season when he finished sixth in his team’s home race in Hyderabad, India this week.

The 29-year-old from Penistone had finished outside the points in the first three races in the global electric car series.

The Mahindra Racing driver was one of the slowest in practice in Hyderabad but qualified in 11th.

He moved up to fourth in the race but, after a failed attempt to overtake former team-mate Sebastian Buemi, slipped back to sixth.

Rowland is now 14th in the standings and Mahindra seventh.

The next race is in Cape Town, South Africa next week.
