ATHERSLEY Rec gained a huge win in their relegation fight as they stunned hosts Ollerton 4-1 on Wednesday in NCEL Division One.
Rec fell behind on 42 minutes but Ethan Nixon levelled before half-time then, in the second half, Jamie Moxon and Hayden Webster struck in quick succession before Lee Garside completed the rout.
Rec moved off bottom and are now two points from safety with ten games remaining.
They drew 1-1 at Shirebrook Town on Saturday in a clash of the bottom two.
Garside opened the scoring for the visitors early in the second half but Shirebrook levelled in the 83rd minute.
After hosting high-flying Wakefield on Saturday, they visit Parkgate on Wednesday then Swallownest the following Saturday – both of whom are just outside the relegation zone.
Worsbrough Bridge collected a point from two games this week.
They are 14th with 30 points from 30 games – leaving them six clear of the bottom three.
Worsbrough lost 3-2 at Staveley MW on Saturday.
The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead before Luke Danville and Alex Hutchinson netted.
They then drew 2-2 at home to Retford on Wednesday.
Retford took the lead but Seb Robbemond levelled then, after a penalty put the visitors back in front, Dempsey Smith struck in the 90th minute.
Worsbrough now have just eight games left in their season.
