BARNSLEY Women’s FC are due to visit Doncaster Belles in the Sheffield Cup semi-final on Sunday, hoping to be better than in a 0-0 home draw with Chorley in the league this week.

They have been regulars in the final across the last decade and will look to return there this week.

Barnsley were held to a goalless draw by third-bottom Chorley, leaving them third in National League Division One North with 23 points from 12 games and ten to play.

With one team to go up, they are 12 points behind leaders Durham Cestria with two games in hand.

Their next league game is at home to bottom Bradford City from 7.45pm on Tuesday at Wombwell Town’s Station Road ground.

Meanwhile, Barnsley Ladies won 3-1 at Sheffield United Community Foundation in North East League South.

Lynn Goodman, Jodie Gregory and Phoebe Lodge scored.

They have 31 points from 12 games, three points clear at the top and nine ahead of third-placed Altofts who have three games in hand.

They are due to host second-bottom Bradford Park Avenue on Sunday.

In the Sheffield and Hallamshire League, Penistone Church won 12-0 at Sheffield City.

Jess Ross scored four, Jessica Barrow netted three and Keeley Green added two.

The other scorers were Lucy Poskitt, Emilia Morris and Courtney Wragg.

Church are second in Division Two, off the top on goal difference.

Worsbrough Bridge won 3-1 at Mexborough Athletic. Bethany Goldthorpe, Stephanie Marsland and Sarah Vickers struck for Bridge who are fifth with five wins and five losses.

Dearne and District drew 1-1 at home to Kiveton Park. Emma Fleetwood netted.
