Athersley Rec came from 2-0 down after 80 minutes to draw 2-2 at home to high-flying Staveley NCEL Division One.

Veteran Lee Garside pulled one back on 80 minutes then netted a penalty in the 86th. Rec remain second-bottom, four points off safety with six games left.

Worsbrough Bridge drew 1-1 at home to Beverley Town with ten men. They took the lead in the 12th minute when Conor Glavin scored a penalty won by Tom Cadzow. But the visitors levelled with their own penalty before half-time.Anthony Leech was sent off just after the break.

The Briggers are now 14th in the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone. They have five games to play - the last three of which are against sides below them.

Tom Brennan headed in an injury-time winner as Penistone Church won 1-0 at home to Barton Town in the Premier Division in front of a crowd of 307.

Church are fourth, ten points off the top two with six games to play.

Wombwell Main stayed top of the County Senior Premier Division by coming from 2-0 down to beat Sheffield Town 3-2 with a last-second winner from Joe Campbell. Ryan Wingrove and Aaron Tate levelled for Main then Campbell won it with the final kick of the game.

They are three points clear of Dodworth MW who were handed a walkover win over Ecclesfield Red Rose and have two games in hand on Main.

Wombwell Main lost at home for the first time since October 2021 as they went down 1-0 to Hepworth United. They are seventh in the table, nine points off top.

Town are hoping to gain promotion to the Northern Counties East League but are expected to require a top five finish.
