APPEALS to locate a man who has been on the run since 2019 - after being connected to an alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl in Barnsley - have ramped up after he appeared on BBC Crimewatch last week.
Mudasser Ahmed, 26, is wanted in connection with the rape which occurred in October 2019.
Officers have carried out extensive enquiries into this offence and are now asking for the public’s help to trace Ahmed.
Police want to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to Ahmed recently, or knows where he may be staying.
Ahmed has links to Birmingham and London, including the SW19 area of London.
A police spokesperson said: “This week BBC Crimewatch Live has shared our appeal to locate wanted man Mudasser Ahmed.
“Ahmed is wanted in connection with a reported rape of a 15-year-old girl in Barnsley in 2019.
“Have you seen him?
“If you know where he might be or if you have any information about his whereabouts, please call 101 quoting crime reference number 14/155800/19.”
