Barnsley Woolley Miners CC are still waiting for their first win of the ECB Yorkshire Premier South season but gained another cup victory.

The Shaw Laners’ league game was rained off, as was their first then they lost the second.

The following day they won at Townville in the ECB Club Championship, after winning in the Heavy Woollen Cup the previous week.

Townville were bowled out for 138 with Harvey Round taking three wickets.

Barnsley lost their openers for ducks but Jake Weatherald hit 65 off 37 balls with five fours and five sixes.

They won within 20 overs with six wickets left.

Barnsley’s league game at Aston Hall the previous day was called off due to rain.

The visitors made 161 then their hosts were set a target of 96 from 22 overs after the game was shortened, but were 33 for no loss off nine overs when rain stopped play.

Elsecar lost at Castleford on Monday in the K3 Dental Cup.

The hosts made 176, with Muhammed Ilyas taking three wickets, then Elsecar were bowled out for 131.
