Barnsley are attempting to bring back last season’s loan striker Max Watters on a permanent deal from Cardiff City.
The 24-year-old striker joined on loan in January and scored four goals in 21 games, with just five starts.
The Reds are interested in bringing him back on a permanent deal with negotiations ongoing.
They are also interested in striker Andy Dallas who is a free agent after leaving National League club Solihull Moors. Sheffield Wednesday and others are also reportedly interested.
Defender Jesse Debrah – who has turned down a new deal at National League Halifax Town – is likely to join Barnsley this week.
Goalkeeper Brad Collins is set to join Championship club Coventry City, with the deal potentially announced today.
The Reds are working on bringing in a new goalkeeper, but it is unlikely to be Bradford City’s Harry Lewis.
He was someone of interest but the clubs have not been able to agree a deal.
