REJECTION of plans for a new 116-space car park near the town centre has resulted in a fresh appeal being lodged by the applicant.
A long-running bid to transform the empty land, off Old Mill Lane, into a car park with traffic lights was last refused in February following another failed application in 2018.
Council planning bosses said applicant Wayne Hadfield’s plan would cause an ‘unacceptable impact on highway safety’.
Mr Hadfield has lodged an appeal, a planning report - which will be discussed by councillors on Tuesday - confirmed.
