Barnsley have turned down a £4million bid for captain Liam Kitching from Coventry City.

The Reds are determined to keep hold of their first team players, with chairman Neerav Parekh saying none would be sold this window.

They have rejected several bids for Kitching from Coventry throughout the window and are thought to want in excess of the club record £5million they accepted for Alfie Mawson in 2016.

Head coach Neill Collins said: “We have very good players. When you have that, there is interest from higher up – it’s a good situation to be in. The club has expectations that need to be met. If not, they will be part of our plans.”
