COUNCILLORS in Darton have asked Yorkshire Water for an ‘urgent’ meeting to discuss work in their ward - after it was revealed there are currently NINE sites with issues.
Couns Dickie Denton and Steve Hunt have said the work is causing ‘chaos’ in Darton East.
The recent disruption started with the burst on Greenside Avenue on September 8, but since then eight more sites have seen work undertaken.
But they say there is no sign of any improvement and the network stability is getting worse.
Coun Denton told the Chronicle: “Not only have the issues we have with Yorkshire Water in Darton East affected our residents water supply, they have also impacted our environment and our roads.
“As of Wednesday morning there were nine separate road disruptions or diversions listed in Darton East that were impacting our residents ability to go about their daily lives, and that is totally unacceptable.
“This is happening too often - we will be requesting a meeting with both Yorkshire Water management and council officers to discuss how we can ensure that this does not happen again.”
