JAMIE McCart is looking forward to returning to Leyton Orient whom he helped gain promotion last season as Barnsley aim to record another away win.

He 26-year-old centre-back has impressed for the Reds on loan from their neighbours Rotherham United, starting six games in League One and one in the EFL Trophy.

His previous loan from the Millers was earlier this year to Orient for whom he made six starts and two substitute appearances either side of an injury.

The London club won promotion and the League Two title while McCart was with them.

Barnsley are due to play at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

McCart told the Chronicle: “It will be good to go back.

“It was a really good club.

“The staff and players were great and the manager Richie (Wellens) was excellent with me.

“I want them to do well this season but not when they play against us.”

McCart played in the defeat at Gillingham when the Os, despite losing, secured promotion as well as the next game, a home win over Crewe, in which they won the title. He enjoyed the atmosphere at Brisbane Road.

“I experienced it at a brilliant time. They were top of the league and flying. The fans were great.

“It is a really good club and I can’t speak highly enough of it.”
