WOMEN'S FIFTH WIN FROM FIVE AWAY GAMES

Barnsley FC Women won 10-0 at bottom club Harrogate Town on Sunday in their last game of 2023.

They are now second in North East Premier with 22 points from ten games, two off the one promotion place although all the teams around them have at least one game in hand.

They have won all five away games this season.

At Harrogate, there were hat-tricks for Amy Dawson and Jodie Gregory with Nicole Shaw adding two. The other scorers were Eliza Holland and Georgina Wilson-Roberts.

They are next due to play at home to Hartlepool United on January 7.

U21S WIN AT CREWE AND FACE THEM AGAIN ON FRIDAY

BARNSLEY under 21s won 2-1 at Crewe Alexandra on Monday and now face the same opposition again on Friday.

After Emmaisa Nzondo’s goal was cancelled out, Aaron Atkinson netted the winner from the penalty spot on 85 minutes.

They are fifth in their league with 19 points from 13 games.

Barnsley are now due to host Crewe Alexandra from midday on Friday on the academy pitches.

SHAW AND DALLAS WAIT FOR LOAN GOALS

BARNSLEY'S two strikers on loan in Scotland are still hunting a first goal, having made 13 appearances each but only one start between them.

Andy Dallas came off the bench in the first half as Kilmarnock drew 0-0 at Livingston. He is yet to start or score but has come off the bench 13 times.

Oli Shaw came on for the last three minutes of Motherwell’s 0-0 draw at St Mirren. He is yet to score in one start and 13 substitute appearances.

Kyran Lofthouse started Gateshead’s 2-0 loss at home to Halifax Town in the National League.

BOLTON TO VISIT ON TUESDAY IN MARCH

BARNSLEY’S home game with Bolton Wanderers has been arranged for Tuesday March 5.

The original match was called off last year due to international call-ups for the Trotters.

The Reds still have a match at Oxford United to rearrange.
