JAMIE McCart has responded well to his groin problem this week and Barnsley will make a late call on whether he can play at Peterborough tomorrow.

The defender came off with a tight groin in the Boxing Day win at Port Vale.

Head coach Neill Collins said: “He’s responded really well. I think, had we really needed him to continue against Port Vale, he could have. But he has been so important that we made the decision to take him off with the Peterborough game in mind.

“He has a chance. It will be a late decision for that game but, if he does miss it, we expect him back for Monday. We have options. Kacper (Lopata) has just come back, Conor (McCarthy) has been waiting patiently, Jack Shepherd has done well. We knew these things would come up during this period so we needed options.”
