FABIO Jalo continued his remarkable form for Barnsley’s youth teams with a hat-trick in the under 21s’ 4-2 win at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old has been a regular scorer for both the under 18s and under 21s this season, while coming off the bench often for the first team in recent weeks.

The Portugal under 19s star signed a new long-term contract with the Oakwell club last week but is yet to start or score for the first team in a league game, having netted three cup goals.

Jalo netted two early penalties either side of an equaliser then, after Aaron Atkinson made it 3-1 at half-time, he completed his hat-trick soon after the break.

Fleetwood pulled one back but the Reds won and moved up to third in their table with 25 points from 15 games.

They are due to host Burnley next Tuesday from 1pm on the training pitches.
