Barnsley have made MK Dons midfielder Conor Grant their final signing of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Irishman has signed on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy in the summer.

The deal was done last night and confirmed today.

Grant, an attacking midfielder, spent four years with Sheffield Wednesday but did not make his league debut then played 53 times for Rochdale.

He signed for MK last season and was part of the team that got relegated out of League One, winning Young Player of the Season.

He has played 14 games this season with the last on New Year’s Day.

Interim director of football Bobby Hassell told the club website: “Conor Grant will add different qualities to our attacking midfield options having played regularly in the EFL for Rochdale and MK Dons.

“The club have monitored Conor closely over the last couple of years and we’re excited for him to join the squad for the remainder of the season with an option to extend his stay further.”
