BARNSLEY Hockey Club's men's team went three points clear at the top of their league with a 5-1 win at home to previous leaders Lindum.
Captain James Shaw scored a hat-trick with Paul Winstanley and Kieran Ryan also on target. The Reds were 3-0 up at half-time then, after Lindum replied, added two more.
Barnsley have now won eight in a row in Peak and Wold Division One and are unbeaten in 12 since September.
They have won 11, drawn two and lost one ahead of Saturday’s game at second-bottom Alford and District.
