DEARNE and District have signed Central Midlands League title rivals Doncaster City’s top-scorer Shay Evans-Booth.

He had scored 20 goals in 17 games this season, including against Dearne last week in a 3-1 win having been dropped to the bench for former Leeds United striker Ross McCormack who was one of three internationals signed on a short-term deal.

Dearne bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a 4-0 win at Woodhouse Colts. Regan Kelly, Bayley Lowe, Josh Moore and Enzo Guarini all scored early in the second half.

That leaves them top by ten points although Doncaster City have three games in hand.

Dearne then lost 2-1 at Dinnington Town in the Floodlit Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Curtis Wilkinson opened the scoring for Dearne but the hosts went through.
