A FISH and chip shop which has been a mainstay of Cudworth for almost 40 years received a visit from a social media star this week.

Danny Malin, who runs the hit Rate My Takeaway channel on YouTube, returned to his hometown of Barnsley to visit Laki’s Fish Bar, on Barnsley Road.

Run by the Georgiades family, the shop recently reopened after a fire gutted the building last May.

And Danny - unsurprisingly given its reputation - was bowled over by his order before giving Laki’s high praise to his 685,000 followers.

Danny said: “It’s one of the easiest ten-out-of-tens I’ve given for a long time.”
