A YOUNG fundraiser has been thanked by hospital staff for her efforts.

Poppie Morgan-Roller, 11, who lives in Athersley North and attends Athersley North Primary School, caught the fundraising bug at an early age.

Poppie’s favourite hobby is beading so she wanted to put it to a worthwhile use.

She has been getting involved with Barnsley Hospital Charity, making bookmarks and more recently bracelets to sell on stalls.

Jane Mills, charity development manager, said: “Poppie’s dedication to crafting bracelets and raising funds for Barnsley Hospital Charity is truly inspiring.

“The initiative not only demonstrates compassion but also a commitment to making a positive difference in the community.

“It is heart-warming when we are supported by young fundraisers, as their actions remind us all of the power we hold to create positive change in the world.”
