HEROES of the Darton community have been recognised for their efforts at a special ceremony.
The Stars of Darton West Awards resulted in a prize-giving event being held at Barnsley Town Hall, which was attended by Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis, and celebrated volunteers’ efforts in the ward.
Dan said: “It was great to attend the Stars of Darton West Awards and celebrate the achievements of inspirational people in our community.
“Thanks go to the nominees, organisers and local councillors who made it such a special evening - they represent the best of our town.”
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
