Penistone Church drew 2-2 at bottom club Maltby Main in the NCEL Premier Division.

Ryan Johnson put the visitors in front just after half-time then, after Maltby levelled, Antony Brown looked to have secured a third straight win with a late penalty. But Maltby equalised again in the 89th minute.

Church are unbeaten in seven in all competitions. They are seventh, two places and six points off the play-offs with games in hand on those above.

They have five league matches left and the Sheffield Cup final against Worksop Town at Hillsborough on April 30.

Wombwell Town lost 2-0 at title-chasers Beverley Town on Saturday in Division One.

They are seven, two places and five points off the play-offs with eight games to play.

Town now host second-placed Wakefield on Saturday then Beverley on Tuesday.

Worsbrough Bridge lost 4-1 at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday. They took the lead through Connor Glavin but saw Nathan Moss sent off just before half-time and conceded four after the break.

They are due to play at home to Swallownest on Wednesday.

Athersley Rec lost 2-1 at home to high-flying Horbury Town, ending a four-match winning run.

They are 13 points and four places above the drop zone with five games left.
