PROMOTER Josh Wale has added to his stable with four signings this week with two of them jetting in from Mexico.

The former British champion from Brampton turned to promotion after hanging up the gloves two years ago.

He now manages a host of fighters but Edgar Romero and Ramiro Garcia Lopez will be his first from overseas.

The duo jetted in from their native Guadalajara this week and will be fighting as journeymen out of the Brampton gym across the UK on six-month work permits.

They have both boxed in their homeland with ‘El Leon’ Romero a middleweight boasting a record of 13 wins, 23 losses and three draws.Welterweight Lopez has won five and lost seven.

Wale said: “I am proud of myself for pulling this off because there has been a lot of red tape involved. It’s unheard of to have Mexicans boxing in the away corner across Britain and I am looking to get them out very soon.”

Wale will also take on his first heavyweight with Thurnscoe man James Morgan, 33, penning a deal too.

He will be trained in Bolton-upon-Dearne by Ricky Stables.

Wale added: “He has a big following and he’s very capable. He has been sparring. Frazer Clarke (British title challenger and Olympic bronze medalist). He’s not young so he needs to get a bit of a move on with his career but it’s exciting.”

Doncaster’s unbeaten light-heavyweight Tommy Sams will also join the Wale camp and is looking to build on his two wins thus far. Wale will be heading to Belfast this weekend to corner Rotherham journeyman Martin Shaw.
