EMILIA Rossi took eight wickets in Silkstone United’s win at Stocksbridge in Division Four of the South Yorkshire League.

Joseph Atkinson (55) led Silkstone to 165 then the hosts were bowled out for 82.

Many fixtures were called off due to the wet weather, such as Barnsley Woolley’s opener.

But some teams from the town did manage to play.

Wombwell Main were skittled for 78 chasing 127 at home to Rockingham 2nd XI.

Wombwell’s Richard Wilkinson and Jonathan Scaife took three wickets each then Rock’s Kelham Bennett claimed five for 11.

Cawthorne fell 37 runs short chasing 178 at Cleethorpes in the Premier Division.

Liam Wiles took four wickets then Luke Ogden hit 63.

Cawthorne now take on Elsecar twice over the coming weekend in league and cup games.

Wath were bowled out for 154 chasing 228 at Ackworth in the Championship.

Shawn Hopkins took four wickets then Hayden Byrne hit 58 off 42 balls with four fours and five sixes.

Darfield won a low-scoring game against Elsecar 2nd XI in Division One, dismissing the visitors for 89 defending 115.

Alex Keeton and Liam Hague took three wickets for Darfield after Elsecar’s Elliott Evans took five.

Penistone recovered from 22 for seven to win their Division Two opener at Parkhead. Number nine Paul Dalton (42) led the visitors to 103, with four sixes, then Parkhead were all out for 79 with Chris Walmsley taking six for 13 and Matt Scholey three for 17.

Wath 2nd XI dismissed Thorpe Hesley and High Green for 65 then won by two wickets.

James Guthrig took five wickets.

Green Moor beat Brookhouse by 67 runs in Division Seven.

Jack Berry hit 91 off 70 balls with 12 fours and four sixes in the hosts’ 191 for three.

Harry Airstone then took four wickets and Joe White three.

Wombwell Main 2nd XI bowled Barnby Dun 2nd XI out for 85 in a three-wicket Division Eight win.

Jack Pearson took four wickets as Elsecar 2nd XI bowled Kexborough 2nd XI out for 59 in a five-wicket win.

Kexborough’s Thomas Green also took four wickets.

Monk Bretton 2nd XI chased 161 for a five-wicket win at home to Rockingham 3rd XI.

Rock’s James Armitage made 51.

Monk Bretton’s Harrison Hayes whacked 64 off 47 balls with seven fours and four sixes while Scott Latimer added 62 off 37 with seven sixes.
