Cyclist Imogen Wolff finished on the podium at the 104k Lincoln Grand Prix this week.

The teenager from Silkstone Common finished third, 19 seconds behind the winner. She said: “I am disappointed not to have won it. It was a strong field. There were some breaks early on and we had to put in the work to close them down.

“I went three minutes faster up the final climb than last year so it’s nice to see the steps I have made.”

Damien Clayton, from Cawthorne, was ninth in the 167k men’s race.

Tuesday saw the second of ten five-mile time trials promoted by Birdwell Wheelers. Fastest on the night was Marc Peasegood in 13-34, just nine seconds ahead of fellow Wheeler Trevor Mayne.

Chris Howden finished in 13-58, Dan Emery in 14-01, Todd Roberts in 14-11 and Austin Watson in 16-35.
