RICHARD Cottam became the latest Penistone Footpath Runner to complete the Bob Graham challenge which involves running up and down 42 summits in the Lake District in less than 24 hours.

He was supported by family and friends and was comfortably inside the 24 hour mark with a finishing time of 22 hours and 17 minutes for the 66-mile event.

Barnsley AC’s Phil Montgomery finished sixth at the Hardmoors 110.

Commencing at 8am in Filey, competitors had a time limit of 36 hours to complete the 110-mile single stage trail race through Cleveland Hills and the North York Moors to Helmsley.

Phil finished in 24 hours, 13 minutes and 42 seconds

At the May Leeds 5k race, Barnsley AC’s Beth Massey was first over50 woman and equalled her time from February, finishing in 20-49.

Beth also finished as second woman overall at the challenging Northallerton 10k in 42-10.

At Edinburgh Marathon, Barnsley AC’s Joy Benson finished in a time of 5-03-54.

Kingstone Runners’ Jordan Miller won the Quacker Trail Race at Newmillerdam.

The race was held as one of the club’s championship events and they had the largest club entry in the race.

There were category wins for Penistone’s Kelvin Bowskill (men’s over70) and Flynn Rogers (boys under15).

Barnsley AC’s Laura Mills finished in 30-12.

Barnsley AC held their ParkRun Championship for May at Rothwell ParkRun.

Chris McNicholas broke the over60 men’s course record by a second, finishing in 19-03.

Vicky Shaw set an overall ParkRun PB of 19-14 while also breaking the over40 women’s course record.

There were course PBs for Gail Colville, Laura Mills and Caron Holburt.

Penistone’s Suzanne McGill was first at the Sewerby ParkRun.

Rachael Mayston notched up her 50th ParkRun at Penistone.
