HALF a dozen players from Barnsley Ladies RUFC contributed as Yorkshire’s representative team won the County Championship title at Twickenham
The Shaw Lane six, Beth Arnold, Dannie Green, Alix Taylor-Roberts, Lauren Bolger, Jasmin Brankin and Becky Patrick all described the prospect of playing at the home of English rugby as a dream come true but the dreams became a reality last Saturday when they claimed a 37-7 victory against Surrey.
Back row Patrick, from Grimethorpe, scored a brace of tries in the victory and Cudworth’s Green also went over.
Two players from Wath represented the men’s team but they could not make it a double success as they missed a late penalty to lose 31-30 to Kent.
Former Newcastle Falcon Ryan Burrows and James Sanderson were part of the Yorkshire team.
