DEARNE Valley Bulldogs kept up their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 36-12 win on the road.
The Bolton-upon-Dearne outfit had too much for Batley to stay top of Division Five.
The tries came from Owen Clarke and Sam Holt, who both got a brace, Ben Hartley and Jack Duggan. Clarke added five goals and Jack Hutton one.
The under 18s were also victorious as they beat Methley Warriors 26-6.
The club continues to enjoy success in terms of their youth development with Andrew Gill scoring for the Huddersfield Giants’ academy in a match against Leeds Rhinos at Headingley.
Fellow former Bulldog Jack Easton turned out for Wakefield Trinity’s academy whilst Conlan Mawson is in the youth set-up at Bradford Bulls.
Dodworth Miners won 54-10 at York Acorn in Division Three.
The result dispelled any thoughts that the team might be rusty after going three weeks without a game.
Tom Hardwick got a double and there were scores from Alex Pegg, Harry Scott, Will Smith, Scott Edwards, Joe Ashworth, Joe Perry and Kieran Hyde.
Perry added six conversions and there was one from Ashworth too.
