Hamilton Academical are close to signing Barnsley striker Oli Shaw.
The Scottish second tier club announced the signing on a three-year deal on Monday.
The Chronicle understands the deal is not completed but is likely to go through.
The Scotsman signed in January last year from Kilmarnock but never started a league game, spending last season on loan at Motherwell.
The 26-year-old came off the Reds bench in seven league games and started in the EFL Cup loss to Tranmere last August.
He has not scored for 39 games across two years but most have been cameos off the bench.
It follows the loan of another Scottish striker Andy Dallas to Barrow for next season as the Reds try to off-load fringe players.
