ROYSTON man Bob Woodcock is gearing up to ride almost 3,000 miles on his motorbike for charity for the 14th time this weekend.
Bob, 71, began riding from Royston to Land’s End and up to John O’Groats in 2011 - and he’s done it every year since.
He’s raised thousands of pounds for charity since his first ride - and this year’s event will be in aid of The Salvation Army.
Bob told the Chronicle: “This year we’ll set off from The Salvation Army in Royston at 9.30am on Sunday.
“I’m excited for it - it’ll be the 14th time I complete it.
“I enjoy the adventure and I also enjoy raising some cash for charity.
“I’ve raised thousands for different charities over the years and the last few years I’ve chosen The Salvation Army.
“I’ll be going with my friend, Melvyn Thomas.
“It’s good that I’m able to put something back into the community.”
