BAD flight stopped play when a paraglider was forced to land on a cricket pitch at Kexborough on Saturday.

Experienced paraglider Mike Tinker had hoped to fly as far as Whitby when he ran into trouble over Barnsley.

But he performed a perfect landing along the boundary line at Kexborough Cricket Club and almost managed to keep off the field of play altogether, overrunning across the rope into the outfield by only a couple of steps.

The umpire stopped play for a few minutes as the players and crowds watched the unexpected visitor descend.
