CARLTON Morris and Alex Mowatt struck to seal Barnsley's second Championship win in five days.
Morris, a January transfer window signing from Norwich City, netted his first goal for the club to set the seal on Sunday's 2-0 victory at Brentford.
And he came off the bench against Blackburn Rovers at drizzly Oakwell to open the scoring after 72 minutes before setting up Mowatt on 90.
Former Barnsley loan man Adam Armstrong lofted an injury-time reply, but the Lancastrians couldn't avoid a third straight defeat.
Barnsley made three changes to the side which started at Brentford, two of them up front, where 11-goal top scorer Cauley Woodrow and Victor Adeboyejo came in for Morris and Daryl Dike respectively.
In defence, Toby Sibbick was handed a fifth start of the season in place of Michael Sollbauer.
Blackburn, who had lost to QPR and Preston North End previously, recalled former England midfielder Stewart Downing.
Conor Chaplin, the scorer of Barnsley's opening goal at Brentford, had the first attempt on goal, a stinging shot which Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski could only parry for a teammate to clear, seven minutes in.
Blackburn forward Sam Gallagher failed to make the most of a decent opportunity soon after, then Woodrow headed over from a Callum Styles corner.
Although the visitors were working hard to close Barnsley down, the home side came close twice in close succession just before the half-hour mark.
First Romal Palmer whistled a low drive from the edge of the penalty area narrowly wide, then Adeboyejo's rising strike from a narrow angle on the Barnsley left was tipped over by Kaminski.
Home goalkeeper Brad Collins had to be alert to punch an inswinging corner from Downing clear, then he held a header from defender Darragh Lenihan as the ball was sent back into the box.
A swift Blackburn counter-attack just before the break ended with Bradley Dack heading narrowly over from a Barry Douglas cross.
Barnsley began the second half with Jordan Williams on in place of Styles at left wing-back, and after 55 minutes, head coach Victor Ismael changed his entire front three, just as he had done against Brentford.
Morris, Daryl Dike and Dominik Frieser came on for Adeboyejo, Woodrow and Chaplin.
The fifth and final home substitution, Herbie Kane for Palmer in midfield, came after 64 minutes.
Soon after, the Blackburn defence had to scramble to clear when Kaminski couldn't hold onto Mads Andersen's header, then Morris struck to put Barnsley ahead, scoring in off of the post from long range with a side-footed effort.
Douglas shot wide from distance for Blackburn before Morris was denied a second by Kaminski's save.
But Mowatt made no mistake when he latched onto Morris's pass and took the ball around Kaminski before slotting his fifth goal of the season.
