GREEN-FINGERED brothers Louis and Johnny Collier have grown all manner of fruit and veg in their family garden.

And the fruits of their labour are now being seen after the boys, 11 and eight, were picked to feature in BBC Two’s Garderners’ World, hosted by Monty Don.

The brothers will feature in tonight’s show, presenting their work on a vertical strawberry wall in the family garden on High Street, Dodworth.

“We have a cottage garden with vegetable beds and the boys enjoy watching the plants and vegetables grow that they have sown and then enjoy eating what they have planted,” said mum Rachel, 44.

“For inspiration and ideas we always watch Gardeners’ World and we love Monty Don and his dogs, Nell and Patti.

“Gardeners’ World invites viewers to share their gardens, tips and advice and to send in their home movies.

“Jamie (the pair’s dad, 54) thought it would be a great idea if we created our very own video and showed the boys creating their vertical strawberry wall.

“We sent the video in and never thought we'd hear anything back as they get hundreds of videos sent in every week.

“We got a call last week to say we had been shortlisted and then another call yesterday to say the producers had picked our video for the show on Friday - so they must have loved the idea too, along with the boys' presenting techniques, of course.

“We are so excited, we can't believe it.

“The boys are thrilled about being on TV and are hoping friends and family will be watching too.”
