Dane Murphy's move from Barnsley to Nottingham Forest has been officially confirmed.

The American left his post as Reds chief executive after his contract ran out last month, with Khaled El-Ahmad appointed to replace him last week.

Forest, Barnsley's Championship rivals, confirmed this morning that Murphy had joined them.

Murphy arrived in 2019, then saw Barnsley escape the drop to League One in the final seconds of his first season before they finished fifth in 2020/21 and lost in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, the Reds squad are in Loughborough today for a week-long training camp including a friendly on Friday against League One opponents.

They are hoping that Belgian striker Obbi Oulare will join them with his move very close to completion.
