MOTORISTS face another two months of delays as work to create a new one-way road system continues.

The controversial £7m gyratory is under construction through parts of Penny Pie Park, Pogmoor.

Council bosses hope the plans will ease traffic leading from junction 37 of the M1 to the town centre, but the plans have been faced with opposition from campaigners.

Works to complete the project have been underway for months and the next phase of the development is set to begin next week.

A temporary one-way restriction between Dorothy House Residential Home and Broadway will be in place, allowing traffic to travel westbound towards Broadway and the motorway only.

A temporary ‘no right turn’ restriction will also be in place which will prevent traffic from turning right onto Broadway from Dodworth Road.

The works are due to begin next Friday and will last for approximately eight weeks.
