A HOYLAND hairdresser has won an award for being the best eco-friendly salon of the year.
JennyLou Beauty - a salon situated on West Street, Hoyland - has won the Prestige Award for Eco-Friendly Salon of the Year.
Owner Jenny Henshaw said: “When lockdown began and my salon closed I didn’t want to leave my clients feeling abandoned, so I set up a private Facebook group where we shared tips and support.
“I also offered Zoom treatment nights - I sent out sample products to clients and we joined a call where I would show everyone how to use their items.
“This was so popular that it turned into a monthly ‘self-care club’.
“I was told the judges were impressed with the community feel to JennyLou and the support I had offered over the last year.
“They also loved the themed ‘treatment of the month’ that I offer, and recognised my dedication to provide clients with an amazing experience.
“I’m thrilled to have been chosen as winner and am looking forward to the awards ceremony in November.”
