STAGECOACH services will be back to normal tomorrow after a week-long strike - but it won’t be long until drivers take further action.
Bus drivers at the company began their strike last Saturday, which resulted in almost all services being cancelled following a pay dispute.
Drivers are due to return back to work tomorrow - but from December 11 until December 17, services will once again be affected in Barnsley.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “Most services will not run during these dates except for dedicated schools buses so please ensure you make alternative travel arrangements.
“We have worked very hard to avoid this action and are extremely sorry for the disruption this will cause.”
Union Unite said Stagecoach has made ‘no attempt’ to resolve matters and any strike action is a ‘last resort’.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
