MICHAL Helik is expected to miss the remainder of Barnsley’s season with an ankle injury.
The Poland centre-back has missed the last four games with an injury sustained in training on April 1.
Head coach Poya Asbaghi told the Chronicle: “Helik is still not recovered. We were hoping he would be in a better stage than he is.
“The probabilities for him to play in the rest of the season are really low. It’s a big blow.”
Asbaghi also said that Helik would be able to train a few weeks after the end of the season. He is one of several players expected to attract interest in the summer so may have played his final Barnsley game.
Josh Benson has returned to training after injury and could play at Huddersfield Town tomorrow but his fellow central midfielder Claudio Gomes is a doubt after feeling unwell yesterday.
Asbaghi said centre-back Aapo Halme was improving but still not in training.
Goalkeeper Brad Collins is expected to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
