Barnsley FC have released their retained list, with Romal Palmer and Victor Adeboyejo offered new contracts.

The players released are Aapo Halme, George Miller, Connor Hodgson, Daniel Jinadu and Tomas Kalinauskas.

Will Hondermarck and Will Lancaster are amongst those offers new deals, after Jordan Helliwell, Charlie Winfield and David Bremang signed new contracts yesterday.

Central midfielder Palmer, 23, and striker Adeboyejo, 24, have been in and out of the first team this season after joining the club aged 15 and 19 respectively.

Halme, a 23-year-old centre-back, has played 61 games since joining from Leeds in 2019 but only started five league matches in the last two seasons. The Reds had an option to extend his contract by a year but decided not to take it.

Striker Miller has been at Oakwell since January 2019 but has played just nine games, being loaned out several times including this season to League Two Walsall for whom he scored 12 goals.

Kalinauskas signed last summer but did not make a first team squad and played two League One games on loan to AFC Wimbledon.

Jinadu and Hodgson are teenagers who had never played a first team game.
