A WOMBWELL man who waited more than two years for his latest hair cut had his four grandchildren grab the shaver to raise money for a cancer charity.

Jeffrey Braithwaite, 61, hadn’t had his hair cut since his regular hairdresser from Kendray closed their shop a few years ago.

It managed to get so long it went past his shoulders - but last Sunday the grandkids helped raise more than £300 for Macmillan, and now he’s bald.

His wife, 59-year-old Lorraine, added: “Before the pandemic his barbers shut down and he just didn’t want to go anywhere else.

“He said he wanted the grandkids to do it when they all got together and that happened on Sunday.

“He wanted to do it for Macmillan and £385 was raised.”
