RESPONSE times to 999 calls in Barnsley stand at an average of 17 minutes, a police report has revealed.
With a 15-minute target, South Yorkshire Police blamed high demand for it being missed during the last quarter from January to March.
A statement said: “This is not unique to Barnsley - in summary, demand volume has been high.
“The proportion of emergency incidents which require a quicker attendance time has risen whilst the number of officers trained, capable and available to attend those incidents remains below capacity.”

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
