A MAN has admitted digging up the grave of two members of the same family in Carlton Cemetery earlier this year.
Wayne Joselyn, 43, pleaded guilty to public nuisance and damaging property after disturbing the grave of Matthew and Ethel Goodwin at Carlton Cemetery between April 24 and 29.
The site was cordoned off for more than a week whilst officers conducted their investigations.
Joselyn, who appeared at Sheffield Crown Court last week, will return on January 20 for sentencing.
He is already serving a prison sentence of 55 months for offences such as burglary, fraud, theft and assault.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
